On to the youth! Laser rejuvenation gives the skin a second life

Using laser rejuvenation you can get rid of facial wrinkles

Laser rejuvenation is no longer a rare and mythical thing. Today, everyone can turn back the years they lived. However, not everyone has reliable information about laser rejuvenation methods, and as a result they make a mistake when choosing a procedure.

First of all, you need to understand the types of procedures. There are two of them:

  • ablative;

  • non-ablative.

In turn, these types of influence are divided into:

  • solid (full);

  • fractional (incomplete).

Perhaps at first glance, these laser rejuvenation methods may seem similar, but this is far from the case. Only the result is the same: after correctly selected types of treatment, the skin becomes several years younger and is really much better.

Non-ablative laser treatment works with the deep layers of the skin, heating them up. The impact of laser beam energy on fibroblasts causes them to produce collagen and elastin at an accelerated rate. Microcirculation in the layers of the skin also improves.

This method is most effective when:

  • scars and serious skin damage;

  • extensive rash;

  • hyperpigmentation and uneven complexion;

  • post-acne;

  • stretch marks.

Non-ablative treatment is based on erbium laser operation. Due to the special wavelength (1550 nm), the upper layers of the skin are not affected, while the lower layers receive the stimulation needed for restoration. As a result, most of the defects are eliminated.

Ablative laser treatment works a little differently. This method uses a carbon dioxide laser with a wavelength of 10600 nm. The impact is made not only on the lower part, but also on the upper layers of the skin. Using the ablative method, the texture of the skin is evened out and a lifting effect is achieved. Applicable for:

  • wrinkles around the eyes, small facial wrinkles;

  • reduced skin tone;

  • pigmentation disorders.

It is worth noting that the recovery period after this procedure will be slightly longer, since a larger amount of skin is exposed than with the non-ablative method.

Despite the differences, the essence of both methods is the same. Using the energy of the laser beam, the water in the dermis is heated and literally evaporates. At the same time, the synthesis of collagen and elastin is launched which is necessary for renewal.

Fractional and continuous laser exposure

Although the results are roughly the same, there are significant differences between these two methods.

With continuous laser treatment, the laser affects the skin in one large spot. However, due to the high risk of scarring and long recovery times, this type of laser treatment is not used anywhere now.

In another case, the laser is split into many small beams that form a grid. Therefore, the laser, interacting with only 20% of the skin area, achieves a 100% rejuvenation effect. This method is more modern and safe; using it, the recovery time is significantly reduced.

Laser photo refresh

This rejuvenation technique, like the non-ablative one, works with the deep layers of the skin. But they are in no way the same or interchangeable.

The best laser beams almost "ignore" the dermis, but have a great effect on the nerve endings in the skin, which signal the body to renew cells. Fine wrinkles disappear, skin tone is restored.

In laser photo-rejuvenation, devices such as KTP (wavelength 532 nm) and ND: Yag (wavelength 1064 nm) are used. Thanks to these parameters, laser radiation is perfectly absorbed by hemoglobin and melanin molecules, which are responsible for skin pigmentation. At the same time, water molecules practically do not heat up. For these reasons, laser photorejuvenation is an extremely effective tool for correcting skin color and combating vascular networks.

This technique does not require a long rehabilitation period and anesthesia.

At the end

Each laser skin rejuvenation method has its own unique features that greatly affect the final result. It is necessary to choose a technique carefully so that renewal is not only easy and effective, but also a safe process.

It is worth knowing that some cosmetologists do not disclose all aspects of this procedure to the client and choose a device for laser treatment on the principle of "what is available". To avoid this, you should contact experienced specialists who have proven themselves positively over the entire period of work.
